In the Phase Two , detailed studies of impacts to socio-ecological resilience in the affected areas in this phase will used to develop means of bolstering socio-ecological resilience in affected communities dependent on coastal ecosystems. This phase of the project hopes to:

  • Assess the nature and extent of damage to coastal and nearshore ecosystems and ecosystem functions, along with an assessment of the potential loss of ecological goods and services to affected human communities.
  • Establish partnerships between professionals and community groups for natural resource monitoring, learning and information sharing to enable capacity development of all major stakeholders.
  • Mainstream Environmental and ecological concerns in official coastal resource management and in community resource use practices, aiming at sustainable coastal livelihoods.
